New Delhi: In the midst of a surge in the number of cases of Covid-19, the authorities in Delhi have increased efforts to ensure 100 percent vaccination staff and shop owners in national markets.
In some districts, market associations have been asked to ensure that shop owners and other staff have received a covid vaccine dose and to submit the same certificate at each district administration office.
Two City Markets – Sarojini Nagar and Pasar Janpath – have been declared as a market that is fully vaccinated by the district administration.
“Vaccination is the only thing that can save people from Covid.
So it is very important that everyone in the market, which has the potential to become a super spreader, fully vaccinated.
Instructions have been issued for market associations to ensure the same and send documents supporting to We earliest, “said an official in the southeast district to PTI.
The main market where the association has been asked to provide details of vaccination status and ensure 100 percent vaccination employees include the Lajpat Nagar market, Bengali Market, Kamla Nagar Market, Rajouri Park Market and Pasar Garden Rajouri.
Shop owners and vendors in Pasar Lajpat Nagar have been requested by the government to submit the vaccination certificate of shop owners and staff.
Following the instructions, the Association of the Nagar Lajpat (Taln) trader has asked the shop owner to get their staff vaccinated and submit supportive documents on Monday.
Secretary General of Taln Ashwani Marwah said they had several meetings with the district government to produce practical implementation programs to ensure compliance with DDMA guidelines at weekend wednesday, opening of strange shops and staff vaccination.
“We have been asked by the district government to ensure that all staff and shop owners are vaccinated double.
We have asked all our members to provide documentary evidence in the form of a vaccination certificate of all employees.
We will collect documents and send them to District Judges (Southeast) Early next week, “Marwah told PTI.
The Lajpat Nagar market is one of the most popular shopping destinations for Delhies.
The market has almost 800 stores with 4,500-5,000 employees.
Marwah said the poster was attached to the entrance gate of shops stating that the shop owner and employees were doubled.
“Next week, we plan to install stockpiling and banners, register all guidelines for customers, visitors, and shop owners and give direction to all protocols including vaccination,” he added.
Marwah said the association also circulated information related to the testing center and vaccination center.
Announcements will be made asking people to get themselves vaccinated against viral diseases, using facial masks, maintaining social distance and continuing to wash their hands at a frequent interval, he said.
Similar instructions have also been issued for shop owners in Bengali Market in the New Delhi district.
The popular market, located close to Connaught Place in Lutyens Delhi, has more than 30 shops with around 200 people working there.
The Bengali Market Association Secretary General Pramod Gupta said the district government had asked them to provide details of the vaccination status of all employees on the market.
“They have asked us to ensure that all staff and shop owners are double vaccinated.
We have completed the process and submitted the documents supporting the district judge’s office a few days ago,” Gupta said.
He said all preventive measures were taken and the guidelines issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in connection with Covid-19 were being followed in letters and spirits in the market.
