Pune: Data from the district health office has revealed that Pune has around four doses of lakh covishield and two doses of lakh covaxin are currently available.
The health office report added that over the past two weeks, the coverage of the Covid-19 vaccine had gained momentum due to the addition of booster and encouragement for teenagers.
About 10 doses of lakh have been given in the first two weeks of January, the data has shown.
“There are many vaccine stocks for the district,” said Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director (Medical), Public Health Services, Pune Circle.
“Actually, we received a new stock on Saturday when nearly 1.8 lakh covishield and about 1.19 lakh covaxin landed dose.
This dose will be distributed on Monday throughout Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and rural units.

“Other officials say vaccine coverage is likely to get more momentum because this district also has almost 12 lakh people who are due to the second dose of the covishield.
For Covaxin, there are around one lakh people who need their second dose.
District on Sunday (until 7:00 p.m.) recorded vaccination 12,416 beneficiaries in 228 private sites and the government.
Pune District has now provided a total of 1.61 crore covishield doses, covaxin and sputnik v, which is 92.1 lakh is the first dose of 68.49 lakh is the second dose and 43,217 is a preventive dose.
