THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The district took more than a year to breach the 1,000-death mark during the first wave of Covid-19 last year.

If the death rate among the 10-39 age group was 4% before April, it increased to 5% in the next two months.
The mortality rate among the 40-59 age group increased from 25% to 31% in the same period.
