Lucknow: The police for identifying at least 3,899 violators who have created a disruption during the 2017 Assembly and Lok Sabha 2017 polls and start precautions to ensure free and fair polls.
Director General of Police Additional Police, Law and Order, Prashant Kumar said those who created a disruption during 2017 General elections were ordered under the Gangster Act when cases were registered with eight other eight under the law.
“We have also taken action against others by signing them to sign bonds and by holding it for violations of peace,” he said.
ADG said that so far 12 people have been external for six months while 91 are asked to sign bonds to promise that they will not make a disturbance during the election.
Likewise, 1,890 others have been ordered for violations of peace.
“District police chief, officials and ADG in the zone have been directed to ensure that actions are taken against 1,895 others,” he added.
ADG added that special preparation had been made in all 29,138 important polling stations throughout the state.
“The police have provided body cameras in 95 constituencies identified as sensitive.
In some constituencies, monitoring is being carried out by drones after consulting the district and administrative commission concerned,” he added.
Other officers said to reduce violence during general elections, the central armed police force unit would be deployed.
