New Delhi: This year there will be no head of foreign countries or the government as a major guest for the Republican Day event, said the source on Wednesday.
In the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic continuing and cases rise, this will be the second year in a row when there will be no foreign leaders as a major guest at the Republican Day celebration.
“This year there will be no head of a foreign state or head of government as a major guest for our Republican day program,” said a source.
There will be no foreign leaders as the main guest at the Republican Day celebration, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host the first Indian-Central Asia summit in virtual format on January 27.
The summit will be held with participation.
President Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzistan Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
