Patna: The flight movement at Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport remains disturbed due to the fog even on Thursday.
The minimum visibility at the airport is dipped to 100m to 8am and reaches 1000m which is needed during the day.
Poor visibility causes the first cancellation of the first flight – Delhi-Patna-Delhi (G8- 143/144, G8-2511 / 2512, G8-131 / 229 and G8-231 / 132); Bengaluru-Patna-Bengaluru (G8-873 / 874) and Mumbai-Patna-Mumbai (G8-351 / 352).
Nine flights were postponed for up to 50 minutes to three hours.
A meteorological center official Patna said 100m visibility was recorded between 5.30am and 8 in the morning, after that manual visibility reached 400m at 9am, the time when flight operations began at Patna Airport.
“Because of poor visibility, the aircraft movement starts at Patna Airport after 11:00 when 1,000 m visual range visual (RVR) is reached.
Manual visibility 1,000 m achieved at 12 noon,” he said.
The first flight was landed at Patna airport after 11:00 and the first departure occurred at 11:30 a.m.
Flights Delhi-Patna Spicejet reached the city at 11.07AM and Patna-Amritsar flights departed at 11:30 a.m.
Overall, 20 flights were operated at Patna Airport starting at 11am to 8pm on Thursday.
