Bhubaneswar: At least four people submitted a nominated paper on Friday for the position of Sarpanch in the Pancaidaarda Panchayat in the Balangir district which was suspected by some influential village residents tried to auction out to the highest bidder.
Sushant Chatria, a man who has won auction for Sarpanch’s position, and one of his nephews also submitted a newspaper.
Two other candidates are Bilalasini Sharma, which has submitted a nomination on Wednesday, and Prabhudatta Panda.
Friday is the last date to submit a nomination for the choice of Three Panchayat Kalaisarda.
The direction came after the submission of a report by the collector to the SEC regarding the Sarpana Pos Auction of Rs 44.10 Lakh.

Team three members have visited the village after auction complaint.
They have recorded a statement of people present during the auction meeting on Saturday, including Chhatria.Chatria together with several people in the village having a meeting where they chose it as their sarpana and agreed that there was nothing from if thearda opposed to it.
The villagers said they would spend the amount (which will be given by Chhatria) for a facelift from the Jagannath Temple.
