Kanpur: Two farmers were killed after a bicycle, where they were riding, hit by a truck to speed up in the area of Bangarmau, in Unnao, at Lucknow-Agra Expressway, on Saturday.
Due told, the police rushed to the place and shifted the body to the corpse.
Driver, along with a truck, escaped after an accident.
The police have launched an investigation to ensure the identity of the truck driver and made his arrest.
Police have identified deceased such as Santosh (30) and Santtram (50), both the villagers of Badlipurwa Bangarmau.
Furthermore said that they had sowed nuts and chili in their fields and went to the Araul market to sell it on Saturday morning.
“A quick truck hit both of them in front of Gaharpurwa Village in Lucknow-Agra Expressway.
What was injured was brought to the Bangarau Public Health Center, where doctors claimed both were brought to death.
Active investigations to catch a truck driver, which has not been identified as possible,” said ASP Unnao Shashi Shekhar Singh.
