Lucknow: Two more Covid-19 deaths were reported in the city on Saturday, while 2,660 more people were tested positively for Coronavirus novel infection in the last 24 hours.
A 48-year-old man who was treated at SGPGI a week ago followed the difficulty of breathing and was diagnosed with Covid-19, giving up on the disease.
“The man shifted to the support of the ventilator because his condition deteriorated on Friday, but died of a heart attack,” said a senior health department officer.
Other death details were not distributed by the department.
The third wave has claimed nine lives and was infected with 34,995 people so far since December 22.
About 17,459 patients including 2,638 on Saturday recovered so far.
The number of active cases is 17,536.
New cases include 74 health workers and 13 pregnant women.
Officials said they were tested positively during regular testing and contact tracing contacts.
Most patients asymptomatic and recover in their homes, they added.
“Only around 70 patients from a total positive test in the last 24 hours must be hospitalized because of moderate symptoms.
Some patients whose conditions are serious especially those who have comorbidity,” said Chief Medical Officer Dr.
Manoj Agarwal.
Chinhat reported a maximum case in 377, followed by Aliganj (341), Alambagh (328), Indiranagar (202), Sarojininagar (218), NK Road (111) and Turiyaganj (110), among others.
Meanwhile, at least 51,193 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 on Saturday.
