Jaipur: Local thieves gangs reap a windfall in the wedding season by escaping with a bag filled with gold and cash from a wedding garden in the city.
Three theft cases at the wedding in Kardhani, Vaishali Nagar and Bhankrota regions have been reported in the last three days.
The first case was submitted at the Kardhani police station on Friday where RS 1.
35 lakh and gold jewelry was stored in a wallet stolen from the wedding garden.
According to FIR, the incident occurred when a woman came to attend the pre-wedding function of her relatives.
He went to replace his dress and left his wallet without supervision when two young men were put to her.
The second case was submitted at the Bankrota police station on Friday where a man accused him of going to the wedding site located on Jalan Sirsi to attend his daughter’s wedding function on Thursday.
Around 9:35 a.m., an unknown thief fell asleep with a handbag that had Rs 2.5 lakh in it.
The man told the police that he was busy in the celebration when the thieves hit and escaped with a handbag.
The third case was submitted on Saturday at the Vaishali Nagar police station where an unknown young man ventured to the banquet hall and quietly fell asleep with a handbag that had two cellphones and golden jewelry.
Vaishali Nagar Sho Heera Lal said these gangs usually only targeted the bags left not guarded inside the wedding venue.
“People should not leave their bags without supervision during the functions of the wedding.
The gangs mainly prey on when people are busy with celebrations,” he said.
Police said the accused, most young boys, entered the place without attracting too much attention and quickly disappeared with bags and wallets when people were busy in ceremonies, photography etc.
Jaipur police said they visited the wedding places to investigate whether all of these theft was the same gang work.
