Hyderabad: City Administration and the Minister of Urban Development KT Rama Rao will lay the foundation for the Fase-2 water supply that works for people in the Outer Ring Road (ORR) on Monday.
Officials said that the minister would put the foundation in the alkapur.
Phase-2 work, it is estimated that it costs around 587 crores, will include the provision of drinking water for all housing units, layout and gated communities in Panchayats, the city, and city companies in ORR.
The supply board & sewerage metropolitan hyderabad (HMWS & SB) has announced that they will provide drinking water to 272 colonies in ORR at the end of March.
Under the work of phase-2, 535 km has been targeted to be completed at the end of February.
Under this project, around 20 lakh households are expected to receive a connection other than the existing 1.5 lakh connection.
Officials say they also need to remember that the population in this region can increase to more than 33 lakh in the near future.
