Coimbatore: Combating the pandemic from the front, many health workers, including doctors and nurses, from Coimbatore Medical College Hospital is increasingly infected with a virus every day.
At least 5-10 members of the CMCH staff are infected with a virus every day, said Dr.
Nirmala, Cmch Dean, on Tuesday.
The hospital has around 500 medicos, including postgraduate and students in the last year’s housing completion (CRRI) housing completion.
There are around 400 nurses and 900 other staff.
Nirmala said that all health workers took maximum precautions during the task.
“Because the new variant is very contagious, some staff are infected.
But the severity of the symptoms is less than the previous waves,” he said.
“Staff members who were infected with seven days and continued work after that.
We managed the lack of staff with the help of those who were Recruited by contract, “he added.
The source of the hospital said at least 40 staff members were far from the task every day due to Covid-19 infection.
