Madurai / Trichy: Madurai reported 605 new Covid-19 cases, 4,906 active cases, 581 recovery and four deaths on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the central area consisting of nine districts posted 3,186 new cases on Tuesday.
Thanjavur’s new cases fell to 1.104 on Tuesday from 1,117.
Trichy recorded 732 cases on Tuesday.
Four more deaths recorded in the southern region in Virudhunagar, Kanyakumari, Theni and Ramanathapuram.
4,777 new cases are recorded in the southern region.
Kanyakumari (1,217) recorded the highest, followed by Tirunelveli (662), Madurai (605), Virudhunagar (519), Theni (455), Tenkasi (444), Tuticorin (396), Dindigul (170) and Sivagaga (136).
The number of recovery in the southern region on Tuesday is 3,336.
The number of active cases in this region rose to 31,529.
The number of active cases in Thanjavur touches 6,179.
Trichy calculates 4,847 active cases on Tuesday.
The region recorded five deaths on Tuesday with one victim each in Karur, Nagapattinam, PulajabuTai, Thanjavur and Trichy.
