Panaji: With Pangaji MLA and BJP Candidate BJP Stanasio ‘Babush’ damaged the claims of the prestigious Panaji seat after the former Minister of Manohar Parragar ahead of the assembly election of 2022, Panaji is expected to witness a high-voltage drama as Parragar’s son has also thrown his hat on the ring.
“Parragar is a different class leader, but I used to always say after my parrika.
This election, people will judge Babush as a person,” Monserrate said.
Utpal Parragar along with his relatives, friends, and supporters at Mahalaxmi Temple, Panaji, before submitting nominations, UTPAL candidates and Congress Elvis Gomes submitted their nomination on Thursday for the Panaji contest.
Before submitting a nomination, Utpal said that he would fight money and muscle strength, while Monserrate said, “Heritage is not a monarchy, and everyone must face the election.” Manohar Parragar represents the Panaji seats for more than two decades since 1994.
After he increased with the position of Defense Minister in 2014, BJP had lowered Aide Parragar Sidharth Kuncalienkar who had won a seat for BJP.
Kuncalienker also won the 2017 Assembly by beating Monserrate which was the United Gous Party candidate for Panaji.
When Parragar returned to the state as the main minister, Kuncalienkar emptied the chair to the Parragar for the contest and BJP once again won the Panaji seat.
After the death of Parragar, Kuncalienkar and Utpal, both claimed claims for BJP’s nomination during Bypoll 2019 in Panaji.
But BJP then also denied nomination for UTPAL.
Monserrate, who then congressional candidates, made dents at BJP Bastion to take a seat for the Congress for the first time after 1994.
Asked about bringing the inheritance of Parragar in Panaji, Monserrrate said, “What is a legacy? Legacy is not a monarchy.
The Father is there and after that His son will come.
This is a democracy.
Everyone must go for elections, my wife is Taleigao MLA she is not nominated.
Basically, everyone is contested.
My child is a Mayor, he is also contested.
If you have the wishes of the people …
.
That is the reason we are here.
“Monserrate said that Manohar Parragar was a leader with a different class and he could not be compared to him.
Before submitting their nomination, both Monserrate and Utpal had a power show during their visit to Mahalaxmi Temple in Panaji.
Monserrate said that the priority of the Panaji constituency was the development and work.
When asked to react to Utpal’s decision to fight the election of assembly, Monserrate said “There are so many other political parties fighting, why do you take a certain name.
We will fight with everyone.
I know that Panaji people know me very well And I will get the extraordinary support of the Panaji people and win with the majority pounding.
“Said the Panaji selection was not new for him, Monserrate said that for the last five terms the panel had regulated the city corporation Panaji (CCP) and he was MLA from Panaji Since the last two and a half years since two and a half years.
“All parties have lowered strong candidates in Panaji,” he said.
Reacting to Utpal’s accusations, Monsererrate said, “Why does these accusations appear now? I joined BJP two and a half years ago and there was no alleged at that time, when they realized that I did not jump ship, all of these accusations began.
Basically, basically, These people think that I will jump ship and they will get a chance.
As clear as it is Working for Panaji.
I will do 200% hard work in Panaji.
“He also said that Panaji people were wise to choose the future of Panaji.
Before submitting a nomination, Gomes, a former bureaucrat, said that he wanted to be the voice of people and gave new leadership.
He said it was from 22 years in Panaji, he had worked in Panaji for 21 years, including three years at the CCP.
“Panaji people have the opportunity to choose a good candidate,” Gomes said.
