Thiruvananthapuram: City police have arrested a man who is allegedly involved in peddling marijuana.
They also arrested 1.5 kilograms of marijuana from ownership.
The police have identified the defendant as Mohammed Noufi, 25, from Bala Nagar near Vettucaud.
The arrest was recorded at the Poonthura police station.
According to the police, Noufi was arrested from Kamaleswaram when he appeared near the school here with his deposits intended to be submitted to other vendors.
The defendant was arrested by a team consisting of officials from the Poonthura police station and members of the Special Action Group for organized crime suffered by the City Police Commissioner G Sparjankumar.
The police said that the defendant was arrested based on the tip received by the city.

Following the tip, the police had put it under supervision and monitored his activities carefully.
After the arrest was recorded, the defendant was produced before the court and was returned in court detention.
The police also said that they were doing a special drive to check organized criminal activities in the city.
Special action groups are formed with this purpose.
