Thiruvananthapuram: Three students were arrested by Parassala Polda on Thursday because they harmed the political symbols of their rival students in the nearest college.
The police identified the three who were accused of Akhil, 20, from Vellarada, Abin, 20, from Elluvila and Salman, 19, from Kaliaikkavila.
Everything is a student from the College of Applied Sciences, Dhanuvachapuram.
Three of them were also studied to become SFI activists.
The students allegedly burned ABVP flag poles installed outside the Velu Thampi Memorial Nair Society (VTM NSS) College in Dhanuvachapuram.
They were also accused of stealing surveillance cameras installed outside the nearby NSS school, detrimental to two cars parked around it and also studied posters that showed pictures of gods in the nearest temple.
Allegations of atrocities occurred around 3am.
The police received information in this matter around 5am after they immediately launched the probe.
The District Police Chief (Rural) Divya V Gopinath personally monitors the probe since crime has the potential to create riots in the region since VTM NSS became ABVP fortress.
This place also has a history of political clashes in the past.
Sajin Muhammed, an 18-year-old SFI Government activist, Parassala, allegedly killed during a clash between SFI and ABVP in August 2013.
“Even though the three were accused of being SFI supporters, there was evidence for their actions.

They were reportedly drunk when They committed a crime, “said the inspector.
The trio reached the crime scene around 3am from the wedding party they attended during the night before.
One more teenager suspected of having with them and an investigation to arrest him.
Inspector said that it was a typical Salman hair that helped them identify suspects quickly.
An old woman watched the young men escaped from the scene on a motorcycle and she watched Salman’s hair completely dyed in white.
When the police began an investigation using this information, several local residents, who had seen Salman several times in the area, told the police that he was a college student nearby.
The police examined the campus around 6 in the morning and for allegedly the trio was still on campus.
Even though they tried to escape, the police chased them and arrested them.
The police have requested allegations of vandalism, causing provocations to incite riots, monitor places of worship and criminal violations against the three students.
