Chennai: The Greater Chennai Corporation on Friday announced that 32 of the 200 wards in the city had been provided for the Castes candidate scheduled for the election of the upcoming local agency.
Of the 32 wards, 16 each has been provided for SC (general) and SC (women), said the corporate commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi.
The contestants for environmental elections can provide their nomination from 10am to 5pm to each election of the neighborhood starting on Friday.
The last day for file nominations is February 4.
Bedi, who is also a district election officer, said the nominees will be reviewed in February.
He said the candidates who hoped for the withdrawal of nominations they could do so by issuing the election officer of the Ward level before February 7.
