Jalpaiguri: Wrapped in wool and exhaust clothing, Subodh Sarkar just started his way when he saw a beast walking on the road in the Kalabagan area on a misty Thursday morning.
It took him for him to realize that it was a leopard and came out.
Like Sarkar, some morning pedestrians saw Leopard at Ward 3 cities on Thursday.
Then, hundreds of people came out of their house to catch a glimpse of the animal.
Lipped with a hue and crying, the leopard ran on the streets before entering a local house.
The police reached a place along with the forester team from the Cooch Division Behar.
The forest clerk locked the room from the outside and made a hole at the door.
The animal shot through the hole and was then taken to the Jaldapara National Park.
No one is sure where animals enter the city.
Officials suspect it might come out of Jaldapara, about 35 km away.
Leopard doesn’t endanger anyone, official said.
