Panaji: A total of 75.25% of 2,724 people who died during the second wave of Pandemic Covid-19 and 53% of 91 people in the ongoing wave, were not vaccinated.
Of the 2,724, only 67 were fully vaccinated and 147 had received a single dose while data was not available 460 people.
Of the 91 deaths, 23 fully vaccinated, four have taken the first dose but data from 15 people is not available.
During the first wave which lasted until February 28, 2021, 795 deaths were recorded.
Indian vaccination for Covid has begun on January 16, 2021.
In Goa, so far 98.55% of the population has doubled.
The data was distributed by state immunization officers, Dr.
Rajendra Borkar at a panel discussion in Covid held by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Goa, recently.
Dr.
Rufino Monteiro, Ima, Goa, President, who is part of the panel discussion, said that even though the third wave seems to be less severe, infection cannot be taken lightly, because people are dying because of that.
On Thursday, Goa reported 15 Covid deaths, a one-day high of the third wave so far.
The amount is even higher than the one-day calculation recorded during the first wave.
On September 14, 2020, 14 had died in one day because of Covid.
The trend of patients who were taken home to the hospital continued even during the third wave even as health services were constantly interesting for people who did not delay tested and meet doctors continuing after three days.
People who have comorbidity are advised to be more careful and not ignore the symptoms.
Goa has seen less hospitalizations in the third wave compared to the first and second waves.
Since the beginning of the third wave on December 28, 636 patients were asked to be treated at each hospital against 16,033 and 13,936 in the first and second waves.
