Thiruvananthapuram: The country reported 50,812 cases on Saturday from 1,10,970 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The level of testicitivity test (TPR) is 45.78%.
Ernakulam reported more than 11,000 Covid cases in one day for the first time since the pandemic hit the country.
The number of people who have been under the observation are now close to five lakh.
With eight more deaths in the past few days recorded as Covid deaths and 311 deaths added from the appeal received, the dead have reached 53,191.
The total active case has increased to 3,36,202, where 3.4% of people are accepted either in hospitals or other treatment centers.
At the same time, 47,649 patients had recovered from this disease.
Of the cases reported on Friday, 46,451 cases have been infected through local contacts and sources of infection are not known by 3,751 cases.

Ernakulam reported the highest number of cases – 11,103, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (6,647), Kozhikode (4,490), Kottayam (4,123), Thrissur (3,822), Kollam (3,747), Malappuram (2,748), Kannur (2,748), Kannur (2,252)) , Alappuzha (2,213), Pathanamthitta (2,176), Idukki (1,936), Wayanad (1,593) and Kasaragod (966).
