Amityville: Two nurses at Long Island were accused of forging Covid-19 vaccination cards and pocketed more than $ 1.5 million from the scheme, the prosecutor and police said.
Julie Devuitono, the owner of the health care of wild children in Amityville, and its employees, Marissa Urraro, both of them were charged with crime forgery, and Devuono was also charged with offering fake instruments for archiving.
Both were charged Friday.
A message looking for comments left Saturday with their lawyers.
Lawyer District District Suffolk Raymond Tierney said Devuono and Urraro distributed fake vaccination cards, charging $ 220 for adults and $ 85 for children.
Devuono, a nursing practitioner, and Urraro, a licensed practical nurse, entering false information into the base of the country’s immunization database, he said.
The prosecutor said the nurse faked fake cards that show vaccines were given to disguise detectives but never provided a vaccine to detective.
Law enforcement officers searched at Devuono’s house and said they captured cash and ledger that showed a profit of more than $ 1.5 million from the scheme, which began in November 2021.
