‘Give GST compensation to the state for 5 years

Ranchi: Ahead of the Union budget on Tuesday, the Minister of Finance Ramehswar Oraon has asked the center to continue GST compensation given to countries for five years after the difficulties faced by Jharkhand due to the decline in state revenues thereafter the introduction of GST and due to the economic downturn induced .
In a letter to the Nirmala Union Finance Minister Sitharaman, Oraon has said that the state has faced the financial crisis in several fronts.
“The center of the funds in most sponsored schemes in the city center has been reduced over the past few years.
The center has stopped its assistance in many new schemes, as a result of which the financial burden of the scheme has fallen in the state,” he said, detailing that In the financial year of 2019-20 and 2020-21, the Devolution Fund from the Central Taxes was RS 20,593 Crore and RS 19,712.
“This year until December, the state only gets Rs 14,891 Crore as a fund for devolution for the financial year of 2021-22, thus influencing the country’s resources in adversely,” the letters are read.
Produce a center to continue GST compensation to another five-year country, Oraon said that if some settings are not provided, countries will be allowed to fight for themselves and that also without the resources they have.
The letter also reminded the center of difficulties faced by people in the mining districts of displacement provisions, environmental hazards and health problems.
He has asked the center to increase royalties on minerals identified for Ad-Valorem royalty to 20%.
He also asked him to enter another mineral in the same list and give royalties at the level of 20% ad-valorem.
