New Delhi: The Department of Space has planned 19 mission this year even as Chandrauran-3, the next phase of the Indian mission to the Moon, is scheduled for August 2022, the government tells Lok Sabha.
“Based on learning from Chandrauran-2 and the suggestions made by national level experts, the realization of Chandraya-3 is ongoing.
Many related hardware and their special tests were completed, and the launch was scheduled for 2022 August,” Union Minister of Transport Dr.
Jitendra Singh say as an answer to written questions.
A total of 19 missions were planned during January to December 2022, including eight ‘vehicle mission launches’, seven’ spacecraft missions’ and four ‘technological demonstrators’ missions’, said Singh.
Some ongoing missions are affected by Covid-19 pandemic.
Also, reproryation of projects has occurred in the background of the space sector reform and the model driven by a new request was introduced, he said.
The list of satellites launched within the past three years including the EOS-03 was launched on 12 August 2021; Amazonia-1 was launched on February 28, 2021; Satish Dhawan Sat (SDSAT) on February 28, 2021, and UnitySat on February 28, 2021.
By 2020 and 2019, CMS-01 was launched on December 17, 2020; EOS-01 (7 November 2020); GSAT-30 (January 17, 2020) While launched in 2019 including Research – 2BR1 (December 11, 2019); Cartosat-3 (November 27, 2019); Chandrauran-2 (July 22, 2019); Research-2b (May 22, 2019); Emisat (April 1, 2019); GSAT-31 (February 6, 2019); Microsate-R (January 24, 2019) and Kalamsat-v2 (January 24, 2019), the minister told the house yesterday, the ministry’s release said on Thursday.
