Kolkata: for new fiscal, there is a big change in the phase-1 launch scheme of the Metro and Joka-Esplanade New Joka-ESPlanade.
The original commissioning target for the short term 5 km from Kavi Subhas-Ruby Run in 2022 now made the way for an operation of 14.2-km which was extended to the V sector in 2024.
The 8 km launch was cut off by the Joka-Esplanade corridor until the Tarala was also revised for Extensions 1 Km to Majernat.
Over the past two years, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), the agency assigned to implement Metro City projects, has tried to complete five stations, including the depot and stable page, along the subhas crossing-kavi ruby from 32-km new Gearia-Airport Metro.
The similar timeline is at the 8.5km jokes from Metro Joka-Esplanade 16.2km.
The songs are placed and placed to complete the touch because both parts have quickly edged closer to the settlement.
But now there is a change of plan.
The feasibility study shows that the lines are cut 6, which will connect the Kavi Subhas terminal station in Garia and join the airport, including Em Bypass and New Town, will have a meaningful passenger only if the interlocks with the new Metro West sector station at the entrance of the new city.
Likewise, line 3, which will connect the jokes on the outskirts of the city in the suburbs with the Esplanade through the Diamond Harbor Road, must join the East Majerhat Railway station for meaningful passengers.
The land situation also pushed the Metro Railway to change the launch of phase 1 of two Metro corridors.
“RVNL has managed to float the tender for communication-based train control signaling (CBTC) for both projects recently.
It is not possible to assign the cut part in the near future,” said Metro Railway General Manager Manoj Joshi.
The CBTC signaling system uses telecommunications by train running on 80kmph on automatic signals at a frequency of two and a half minutes.
The CBTC tender for both corridors cannot be flipped before because of a pandemic.
Metro GM Joshi added, “Very few passengers will use these parts and we will land in the same situation as the East Metro, which still does not have enough legs even after the Phoolan extension.” At present, the V-Howrah Maidan corridor is 16 km running 6.9 km of service between the V and Phoolbagan sectors with almost 1,500 daily.
JOKA-ESPANADE corridors increased from Jokes to Mominpur.
This is the original phase 1, but with the Majerhat bridge collapsing in 2018, the work of Majerhat Metro Station stalled.
Station and Viaduct along the stretch have been quickly completed because the new bridge was assigned in 2020.
Metro is now in a hurry to complete the stretch of 1 KM to Majerhat Station, instead of starting a cut operation to the Taratala.
