Coimbatore: A 30-year-old man attacked his alienated wife and lover, police officer, with firewood when they spoke on the road Mettupalayam-Udhagam in Friday night.
Both women and police have been treated at a government hospital in Mettupalayam with injuries.
Police officers said the 26-year-old Rajeswari had been separated from her husband R Murthy, a resident of Mgr Nagar in Karattumedu, two months ago after he came to know about the extra-Anya affairs with 32 years old Duraipandi, police class II, police with Mettupalayam police station.
