New Delhi: Three people were arrested on Sundays for allegedly persecuting and robbing a woman in Vivek Vihar.
On January 3, PCr received a call on the robbery at Surya Nagar Bus stood near Vivek Vihar.
The complainant told the police that around 6.16 afternoon, three unidentified people arrested him from behind and dragged him to the bushes.
“They physically attacked him and robbed his telephone, money, and earrings,” the officer said.
During the investigation, the police focused on three people and subdued them from Maharajpur at Uttar Pradesh.
The defendant was identified as Suresh (28), Jeetu (24) and Ankit (22).
During the probe, the police found that when the defendant saw a vulnerable target, they followed the person until they reached an isolated place.
Then, finding opportunities, they pounced the victim and strangled them with a neck or mouth and then stole their belongings.
“One of them strangled the victim while the other two robbed them,” said an officer.
DCP (Shahdara) R Sathiyasundaram said Ankit was previously involved in two robbery cases.
“Suresh, Nepal’s native, and Jeetu is the first offender,” he said.
