New Delhi: Accused the previous Congress Government of BSNL bleeding owned by the State to “Death of Almost”, Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman said on Tuesday that PM Modi government gave money to buy a 4G spectrum and became competitive.
He responded to the allegations of Shiv member Sena Arvind Sawant at Lok Sabha that the government killed BSNL and MTNL owned by the state while on the other hand it helped the vodafone private sector player.
“BSNL is part of our strategic asset …
we give (company) money to buy a 4G spectrum and become competitive,” he said while intervening during discussion with the public budget.
BSNL, he said “lost ten years full” because of the treatment he was chored by the previous Congress government.
“There is 2G exploitation because where BSNL is lost …
You (Congress) allow all types of corruption in 2G”, he added.
When the modi government came to power in 2014, BSNL was in poor condition and did not have the money to pay salaries, he said, adding that the Government NDA provides funds so that the company can come out with a voluntary pension scheme (VRS).

The Modi government has given money to the company to buy a 4G spectrum, he said.
Participate in discussions about the budget, Sawant accused the government to submit the airport to the Adani Group.
He also said that Irdai’s insurance regulators had been without head over the past few months.
