Thiruvananthapuram: Police Vizhinjam has arrested two more men in connection with the alleged murder of 44-year-old Payatuvila Sajikumar.
The police identified the defendant as Reji, 42, and Sajeev, 28, both Payattuvila residents.
Both are friends of the deceased and consume alcohol with him until violence claiming his life erupted.
The police had previously arrested two main defendants, Biju aka the letters of Biju and Rajesh alias Porali Rajesh.
The duo appeared in an emergency warehouse where Sajikumar and friends consumed liquor and took a fight with him, which grew worse and ended in the murder.
Reji and Sajeev have fled since the incident.
Vizhinjam Station House Officer Inspector Prajeesh Sasi said the police initially did not understand why the friends of Sajikumar escape.
Then, his wife told the police that all members in the group had quarreled with each other at a time or another.
“On that decisive day, Biju and Rajesh really left the place after the initial round of fighting.
It was Reji and Sajeev, along with the last member of the gang, Sudheer, who invited them back to the scene, “police said, added that they investigated whether others had anger.
Sudheer still remains great.
