Coimbatore: Former Secretary of the DMDK District, the former district was hacked to death by two men in Kanhan Nagar extension in Nallampalayam here on Monday night above the land dispute.
Saravanampatti residents, Ponnusamy functions as DMDK District Secretary a few years ago.
He quit politics and engaged to the real estate business.
He runs the document writing office too.
Personal requests revealed that Ponnusamy had given a power of attorney to someone named Muthukumar and received 50 lakh from him.
A month ago, Ponnusamy repayed the number to the mutthukumar and canceled the property’s power of attorney.
There was previous hostility between the two on the property.
On Monday night, Muthukumar asked Ponnusamy to visit the plot located in Kanhan Nagar Extension in Nalmpalayam.
Immediately, Ponnusamy and typing his office Sripriya went to the area in the car.
After reaching place, Sripriya lived in a car while Ponnusamy went to meet Muthukukar and other people Mg Rajan.
Suddenly, Ponnusamy was hacked to death by Muthukukar and Rajan.
Ponnusamy suffered more than 20 injuries in his stomach, neck and other body parts and died in that place.
Sripriya raised an alarm, the killers fled.
Meanwhile, the locals told 108 ambulance services stating he died.
Immediately, Thudiangur police sent the body to the College Medical Coimbatore Hospital for Postmortem.
The police have collected CCTV recordings from the region.
The police secured Muthukumar and Rajan at night and further investigations were active.
