Hospitals shift focus to non-Covid treatment

Written by news2in

Greater Noida: Due to a downward trend seen in new Covid cases, hospitals in the city have started to shift focus to non-Covid treatments.
The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in Greater Noida has started a dialysis facility at a subsidised rate of Rs 1,500, as against Rs 4,000 and above that is charged at private hospitals.
GIMS has also started an online booking facility for OPD appointments to help reduce queues at the counters.
Also, the hospital will start its routine surgeries next week.
“There are many patients waiting for renal transplants or donors.
And there is no government facility in GB Nagar for the economically weaker section.
That’s why we have started the dialysis facility at subsidised rates,” said Brigadier (retd) Dr RK Gupta, director (GIMS).
The online booking facility has initiated at GIMS — a first in the district — under the Centre’s ‘Digital India’ initiative.
New patients will have to visit the hospital’s website www.gims.ac.in or http://www.ors.gov.in/ and click on the online option for registration, which is processed after verification of the patient’s Aadhaar card and mobile number.
Earlier in May, GIMS had started teleconsultation services via the e-sanjeevani web portal and “Upchar” mobile application.
Meanwhile, District Hospital in Noida’s Sector 30 started general OPDs earlier this week and is now taking patients for elective and routine surgeries.
