LONDON: Two-time Olympic 10,000m Winner Mo Farah will make a last-gasp Effort to qualify to the Tokyo Games in the Athletics Championships at Manchester on June 25.
The British runner, 38, is to strike the qualifying standard to the space following a failed attempt earlier this month at Birmingham, in which he had been stung by an ankle injury.
He wants to defeat a time of 27 minutes, 28 minutes to stand a chance of protecting his crown in the Olympics, which begin in Japan a month.
Farah clocked 27:50.64 in the 10,000m on June 5 to emerge back in his very first race within that space since stopping the trail to concentrate on the marathon at 2017.
However, Farah nevertheless felt he can defend his Olympic name and has recovered from his shoulder issue.
The Manchester race, even using all the championships up as Olympic trials, will probably be his final opportunity to hit Tokyo, together with the deadline on June 27.
Farah won the 5,000m-10,000m double in the London Olympics in 2012 and replicated the feat four decades later in Rio de Janeiro.
