KANPUR: Every day after a vehicle supposedly mowed two motorcyclists to passing, their relatives and locals battled with police on Wednesday because the latter attempted to prevent them from obstructing Kanpur-Shuklaganj street near Akrampur at Magarwara region of Unnao.
They had been protesting together with all the bodies of their deceased men against alleged police inaction and delay in releasing damages to the kin of the deceased.
At least 18 policemen have been hurt in the conflict.

Rajesh and Vipin, taxpayers of Devi Kheda, were murdered in the mishap following the motorcycle they were riding was struck by a moving car on Tuesday near Akrampur village around Kanpur-Shuklaganj street.
Irked over the episode, the victims’ relatives and sailors staged a street blockade on Tuesday.
The demonstration had been called off following the authorities and the district officials intervened in the issue and promised to do it against the vehicle driver and recommend proper financial help to the kin of the deceased.
Following the post-mortem evaluation of the deceased, his family and locals, alleging inaction on the part of the authorities and the district government, repeatedly staged a street blockade with all the lifeless bodies, bringing the Kanpur-Shuklaganj street near Devi Kheda at Magarwara place into a standstill.
They raised slogans and demanded immediate arrest of the accused automobile driver and reimbursement for kin of the deceased.
Afterwards, as the authorities attempted to lift the blockade, a conflict ensued.
Even though the mob hurled stones and bricks, law enforcement, in retaliation, resorted to cane-charge.
A enormous contingent of police and PAC employees, headed by ASP Unnao Shashi Shekhar Singh, patrolled the region to bring the problem in check.
Chaos prevailed in the region for almost 3 hours.
“Investigations are still on.
We’ve detained a few men involved with the violence.
As many as 18 policemen have endured accidents.
The situation is currently under management.
The street blockade was successfully improved.” The ASP stated.
