MUZAFFARNAGAR: Police on Tuesday detained two guys, who were absconding, for providing’triple talaq’ for their wives in distinct events in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district.
Delhi resident Azam gave’triple talaq’ for his wife Asma Khatun about February 6 while Sameydin had awarded’triple talaq’ into Firdosi Begum about February 4, authorities said.
Authorities had booked the accused under the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights Marriage) Act, 2019 following the girls had lodged complaints against their own husbands.
