PATIALA: The Democratic Teachers Front (DTF) has slammed the the state education department’s move to make teachers and students work on Facebook page ‘Activities School Education Punjab’ by pressing like and share for it besides making positive comments.
The department was turning the classes into IT cell, it alleged.
“The government is misusing the machinery and education department for its own political benefits.
It is shameful that the education department is forcing teachers to perform non-academic work.
It was also an attempt to overpower the freedom of individual over his/her use of social media platform.
Recently, the state education department got dislikes four times more than the likes in their online Darbar.
Now, the department, in the name of healty competition among districts, has asked DEOs to get more shares and followers, likes and positive comments for the Facebook page from teachers, students and parents, relatives of the students,” said DTF president Vikram Dev.
