CHENNAI: The monsoon rain slowing down in other parts of the country may be good news for Chennai as weathermen have forecast thunderstorms on Sunday and light rain on Monday.
Weather bloggers said while rain could be expected during night hours, the city may continue to get isolated spells due to convective activity the whole of next week as the monsoon would remain weak.
For the next 24 hours, IMD has forecast thunderstorms with light to moderate rain to occur at few places in the city and the suburbs with the sky condition to be partly cloudy.
Maximum and minimum temperatures may be around 36°C and 28°C.
In the subsequent 24 hours, partly cloudy sky conditions may continue with possibility of light rain over some areas.
Temperatures may hover at a maximum of 37°C and 28°C.
