Gurgaon: The MCG commissioner on Friday reviewed the plans to construct the MCG office and other major development projects.
Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja suggested that the main conference room of the new MCG office could be made on the lines of the Haryana Legislative Assembly.
The new MCG office is to be constructed in Vyapar Sadan.
The officials informed him in the meeting that the new office will be a 10-floor building and will house the offices of the mayor and MCG officials.
The commissioner said that every department in the new MCG building should have its record room.
Currently, the technical bid of the project is being evaluated, said MCG officials.
Nearly 70,000 sq ft area on the second and third floor of the building will be leased out to recover the cost of the building, which is estimated to cost Rs 116 crore.
Moreover, it was also informed in the meeting that the MCG is planning to transform the old MCG office near Sadar Bazar into a shopping complex and the zonal office of the civic body.
The old MCG office will have six floors for offices and three floors will be for commercial use.
According to the plan, the ground floor of the building will have a citizen facilitation centre and shopping complex.
“A layout plan to transform the old MCG building near Sadar Bazar should be prepared and sent to the state government for approval,” said the MCG commissioner at the meeting.
The multi-level parking projects in Kaman Sarai, Sadar Bazar and near the Post Office were also discussed in the meeting.
These parking lots will accommodate around 1,600 vehicles.
