Thiruvananthapuram: Police Nedumangad on Sunday, has arrested a 39-year-old man with charges of raping prospective jobs.
The police identified the defendant as Renjith Chandran from Thara Nivas, Manava Nagar in Palkulangara near Pettah.
The police said that the defendant trapped the survivors through fake job advertisements, which he posted on popular online portals to be classified.
The 24-year-old survivor responded to advertisements, which for the position of personal assistant to the manager of the construction company which was immediately launched called the house and construction ambuja.
The defendant introduced himself as Harilal, an advocate who practiced in the High Court and as a company manager, who he would launch in partnership with his brother-in-law.
Nedumangad B Sreejith Sub-Inspector, which is part of the investigation, said that the defendant collected the personal details of the Survivor, including the address of the housing, by telephone and then monitored the activities at his home.
On the afternoon of May 11, he visited after ensuring that her husband was not at home and allegedly raped him.
The woman accused the request that the defendant also clicked on his naked photo on his phone.
Then, he extorted him using the photos and forced him to make a video call with him because of his sexual satisfaction.
He threatened him that he would post photos on social media if he refused to offer.
The police took action within two days after receiving his complaint.
They also caught their cellphones, which will be sent to forensic experts for detailed examinations.
“He is not an advocate and there is no plan to launch the company,” said Sub-Inspector, added that the defendant did not have a particular job.
After his arrest, three more people approached the police, alleged that he collected them Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 as a registration fee when they contacted him for the job.
The defendant was produced in front of the court and returned in the custody of the judiciary after the arrest.
The police team was led by Nedumangad DSP J Umesh Kumar and Inspector P S Vinod.
