Kolkata: The Archery Association of India (AAI) President Arjun Munda on Tuesday urged Tokyo’s army to shoot without fear when they pursued an Olympic medal that was difficult to plus.
State archers have proven their courage at the international level but they tend to choke at the biggest stage.
Not different this time with Deepika Kumari returned to the world number one after leading India to an unprecedented sweep in the World Cup in Paris, just three weeks before the Olympics.
“UNKO BAS Apna Morale High Karke Bindaas Khelna Chahiye, Bas Yehi Kaafi Hi (they only need to shoot cheerfully and compete without fear, it will be enough to win the medal),” said Munda to PTI.
Deepika was in the leading position before the Girl Olympics in London too but returned empty-handed.
“My only advice to them just shoots the way ‘Bindaas’ without being disturbed by the news and the media,” said the former Jharkhand CM.
India topped Tally at the World Cup stage 3 in Paris with four gold medals.
Deepika enjoys the title hat-trick including individuals, teams, and a mixed pair of women who are recurve with her husband, Uran.
The mixed team, which is the hope of the Best Indian Olympic medal, has increased nine places in fourth place, while the watershed (number 9) has also moved to the top-10 for the first time, increasing four places.

India will compete in four events in the Individual Tokyo – Men, Tim, Individuals and Mixed Women’s Couples.
Munda further said Indians have worked a lot on mental toughness, lacks which is considered the main reason for their struggle at the Olympics.

There was training for the trainers and I was sure it was very helpful,” said Munda, who is also Minister of Perat for tribal affairs, said.
