Chennai: The Government of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday appointed 1987 IPS Batch C officer Sylendra Babu as head of police forces in the state.
Sylendra Babu will succeed in Tripathy who retires on Wednesday.
The Head of Secretary V IRAI Anbu issued an order that appointed him as Director General of Police.
Sylendra Babu, a native of Kanyakumari, has served in many key positions.

He has a MSc in Agriculture, MA, MBA, PhD and PGD (Cybercrime Investigation) and speaks Tamil, English, Malayalam, Hindi & France.
