Thiruvananthapuram: The team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) investigated the controversial iSro espionage case began a formal investigation into the case in the capital.
On Wednesday, the team recorded a statement of former ISRO Nambi Narouanan scientist.
The team that visited Nambi Narayanan residence spent more than two hours, recorded details of his statement before the DK Jain Committee, based on the Supreme Court had asked the agent to register the case and investigate.
It is based that the CBI team will issue a notification to the defendant in FIR in the coming days.
The CBI team from a special crime unit in Delhi has reached the capital on Monday and camped at the CBI office in Muttathara.
As many as 18 former police officials, including those who vary in Kerala police and intelligence agencies during the iSro espionage case, named the defendant in the FIR delivered by the CBI in the court judge court here in connection with this case.
The CBI has quoted a violation, including conspiracy, physical torture and forged false documents to trap central government officials.
The Supreme Court has been on April 15 this year ordered the CBI to look at Justice D K Jain Committee reported the role of several senior state police officers, who had framed Narayanan in the case of espionage.
Narayanan has also taken the issue of seeking actions against the wrong officer in the Supreme Court by applying for civil WRIT.
Former IPS officers, including Siby Mathews, Mathew John, RB Sreekumar are among those who have been crowned by the CBI in His FIR which was submitted in the Court of Judge Judge here.
Mathews are accused of all four in this case according to FIR.
Mathews is the excavation (crime) when the case occurs.
Meanwhile, Mathews along with the accused PS Jayaprakash, S Vijayan and Thiri S Durgadatt had been seeking anticipatory guarantees.
They have submitted in court that they are ready to work with the CBI investigation but their arrest must be stopped.
