Thiruvananthapuram: The Ministry of Public Education has decided not to provide signs of grace to SSLC and plus-two students this year.
According to the authorities, the decision was taken by considering the school remained closed during the academic year due to Emergency Covid-19.
Scerter had previously recommended the government to provide signs of grace to students by considering their abilities in sports, art and other extracurricular activities since previous years.
However, the high-level committee chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan decided to state that the exam was held freely.
About 30 different extracurricular activities generally take signs of grace.
Pro-CPM teacher organizations, including KSTA, want the government to consider giving grace for at least students who are active with police students, NSS and NCC.
Last year, at least 1.15 SSLC Lakh students, around 1,200 THSLC students and nearly 90,000 students plus-two received grace values.
The results of the SSLC examination are expected in mid-July and the results of plus-two at the end of July.
