Gurgaon: Taking a serious record of deputy commissioners (DCS) spent the night outside their district posted, the state government had directed them to tell higher authorities before leaving.
In a command issued on Thursday, the Secretary of the State Government (Department of Personnel) said that all DCs had to inform and request approval from the head of the Head of the Head to the Minister of Chief, the Secretary of the Head of State or Commissioner of the Division concerned before leaving their district’s jurisdiction for official work or private , The government secretary also clarified that every violation of orders must be seen seriously.
According to the order (copy with TOI), the state government said it had come to notice that many DCs sometimes spend the night outside their districts without approval from competent authority.
Resources in the government say some DC posted in non-developed or small districts and have families living in other districts going at night to stay with their families.
Likewise, some have houses in the nearest district and leave the district posted on weekends.
A senior official at Chandigarh said at least five DC was posted in the district side by side with Gurgaon having houses in the city and left their district after that day working or on weekends.
“The order will prevent these officials from leaving the district without a legitimate reason,” the official added.
