Lucknow: Mounting Goel, 1987 batch IPS officer, took over as Director General of Police Up on Friday.
In his first interaction with the media, Goel emphasized better police relations, which stated that crime control would be easier and easier if both of them worked together.
He said the use of technology is very important to cut time in cracked cases, which in turn leads to better collection of evidence.
Any ranking officer must immediately interact with people as training to build trust and this holds the key to a better policing, he said.
“Small crimes should not be ignored because later the spiral might be a bigger problem,” he said, who advised the officers to go to the ground and did not live in their office.
“Keeping law and order is a challenge, but I have confidence in my team,” the police said.
Replying to the request assuming the cost on the anniversary of the bicru massacre where eight police were killed, Gelel said, “If the local police will control the situation back, the massacre can be avoided.

Goel also added that the police remained vigilant, there would be no way back from the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riot.
