BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started compliance with the 2017 notice to destroy the part of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan Bungalow actor for widening the road.
BMC has provided a notification to the Bachchan family for widening the road, which is part of their Pratheeeksha bungalow plot will be obtained to widen from Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg Road.
BMC has also instructed Mumbai Suburban City Collector Collector Survey Officer to limit the right part of the bungalow needed for road widening projects.
Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg connects the Cinema Chandan area to connect the road to the Iskcon Temple.
Advocacy Tulip Brian Miranda, City Council Member, when talking to Ani, asked why BMC work was finished for all other homes except around Bollywood actors, and said that the main project had stopped.
“BMC has notified Amitabh Bachchan’s actor in 2017 concerning this situation under the tortuous policy.
The walls of the plot side by side with Bachchan bungalows are taken and drainage have been created.
But Bachchan’s house is left untouched,” Miranda said.
He added, “When the notice was released, why was the land not taken? It belongs to ordinary people they will immediately take it below section 299 from the notification of the city’s actions that you don’t have to wait for the second notice of the appeal.”
A further advocate said that despite repeated efforts, he could not pass through the authorities until it threatened to go to Lokayukta.
“I wrote to BMC in February 2021.
I did not receive a reply so I had a telephone conversation with an environmental officer and wrote to the commissioner but still hadn’t received a reply.
This is a very necessary project because there are two schools.
A hospital, a temple Isycon, and the monument in Mumbai is around.
The winding road project is suddenly stopped only because of the Bachchan Amitabh bungalow, “he added.
“I began agitation and follow-up in February.
I am very happy that this work continues when I say that I will go to Lokayukta if this special order is not followed and if it pays not perfect,” he added.
Miranda further said that the authorities immediately wrote a city survey and asked for new demarcation from the property.
