Bar on: A old tribal woman has behaved allegedly because of suspicion of practicing magic in Mayurbukkanj, police said on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as a 62-year-old Hansdah Jamuna, a resident of Balibhol Village, said Karanjia Sub-Division (SDO) police officer Sudarshan Gangoi.
His beheaded body was found near the village on Sunday and two young men detained because he was questioned, he said, adding to the head had not been restored.
Hansdah’s family members accused him that he was targeted after the death of a recent person in the village, the officer said, adding him last seen on Saturday night.
The murder case has been registered and further investigation is taking place, he added.
