Patna: After a central nod for pregnant women, many who expect mothers to seek expert advice on covid vaccination and their impact on their health and unborn children.
The decision was taken after the ICMR-Delhi study showed that the second wave of Covid-19 hit pregnant women and postpartum was more severe compared to the first.
Health experts feel the vaccine can protect the mother and children who have not been born from infection because there is evidence that babies can get antibodies in Utero through the blood of the cord.

Monika Anant, an additional professor of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in Aiims-Patna, said many pregnant women with Covid-19 symptoms were hospitalized with the second complication during the second wave.
In the first wave, 14-15% of pregnant women have moderate to severe diseases in the second wave, nearly 24% have moderate and severe infections.
After vaccination in nursing mothers, antibodies began to appear in breast milk within 2 weeks and the highest in 4 weeks, he said.
“If pregnant women are vaccinated, they may experience lighter symptoms even if they are contracted by a virus.
There will be a little or no opportunity for the ICU and incubation requirements for vaccination of mothers who expect.
It is also seen that if a pregnant woman takes a vaccine in the last period (4 -5 weeks before shipping) their pregnancy, vaccines can protect newborns too, “said Dr.
Anant.
Gynecologist Dr.
Manju Geeta Mishra said the vaccine against Covid-19 was safe for pregnant women and protecting them and their unborn children from infection.
“It is seen that simtomatic pregnant women are more susceptible if they catch a virus than the common ones.
In inoculation, the baby will also receive temporary protection from capturing viruses if their mothers have been vaccinated during pregnancy.
In other vaccines, it is also seen that the placental cable helps protect the baby from disease others, “he said.
“Some women seek advice about the benefits of vaccines against Covid-19 while some, who unconsciously have taken vaccine photos in the early stages of their pregnancy, also contacting help.

Sushma Pandey, former Head of the Gynecology Department at PMCH, said health professionals need to highlight the benefits and risks, if any, about vaccination against Covid-19.
“Based on information, pregnant women must decide for themselves whether they want a vaccine or not.
In addition, the government must create awareness about vaccination too.
But this vaccine is safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women,” he said.
Civil Surgeon Patna Dr.
Vibha Kumari Singh told this newspaper that conscious camps would be held in all vaccination centers to encourage pregnant women to take Jab.
“Awareness in the community will also be made through workers ANMS, Ashas and Jeevika.
Special settings will also be made in the center of the vaccine for them, including separate lines for pregnant women.
At present, we are waiting for the direction of the state government in this matter,” he said.
