BANGKOK: A large-scale explosion in a factory on the outskirts of Bangkok early on Monday rocked the airport terminal which served the capital of Thailand and encouraged the evacuation of residents from the region.
The fire broke early in the plastic manufacturing foam and plastic factory in the southeast area of Bangkok near Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The photo shows the nearest house with their windows exploding and debris on the streets.
The firefighters still worked to hold back the flame later, and the authorities ordered the evacuation of the region amid fears that thousands of liters (gallons) leaked chemicals could cause more explosions.
There is no word right on what might cause fire in the Bang Phli area or whether there are those who are injured or killed.
Local media reported that the initial explosion shook the terminal building in Suvarnabhumi, set alarm at Bangkok’s main international airport.
Airport officials said no flights were canceled but did not offer other direct details.
