British sailor James Anderson reached another milestone in a multi-storey career when he took his 1,000th grade goal while playing for Lancashire in a district championship match against Kent on Monday.
Anderson, who was 39 years old at the end of the month, reached a landmark during the impressive new ball spell when he had Heino Kuhn was caught by Dane Vilas.
The goal was taken from the end by bearing his name at Old Trafford and finished his 51st class, Haul Five goal when he claimed 5 for 3 on his first seven overs.
Anderson became only the 14th player to claim 1,000throw of this century and only fifth Paceman after Andy Caddick (2005), Martin Bicknell (2004), Devon Malcolm (2002) and Wasim Akram (2001).
It has become the most productive fast bowler in the cricket test, Anderson has 617 goals in 162 matches for England on average 26.67.
After struggling with a niggling injury in recent years, Anderson is currently preparing a five-match home test series against India starting August 4, before visiting Australia in an effort to reclaim ash in December.
