Ghaziabad: To increase pressure on the government, Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has decided to send representatives to protest new central agriculture laws during the Monsoon Parliament session.
All farmer unions under SKM groupings, who have pioneered seven-month agitation, will send five members every day while the parliament is in a session, according to the plan to protest.
“We will also send letters to all members of the opposition parliament to increase the problem of farmers in parliament since the session begins,” said Jagtar Singh Bajwa, a member of the Protest Committee at the gate, which is one of the three main agitation sites together.
Singhu and Tikri boundaries.
“If 40 trade unions under SKM each send 5 representatives, there will be 200 farmers who protest outside the parliament every day,” added Bajwa.
The rainy season session began July 19.
Bharatiya Kisan Union (Tikait), meanwhile, invited members of the Valmiki community to the protest site and call them on stage on Monday to counter BJP charges.
On June 30, a group of BJP workers had gathered near the protest location to welcome Amit Valmiki, who was recently appointed by the BJP Secretary.

On Sunday, BJP workers under the Yashpal Pehelwan Board member, issued a protest march in Ghaziabad and burned the speech of the BKU leader Tikait Rakesh.
“This is not a farmer but the Rakesh Tikaites who have captured the highway.
They have nothing to do with the aim of the farmers.

On Monday, Tikait said this was a new BJP strategy to “weaken our protests with anti-Valmiki farmer branding”.
“To indicate that farmers are not anti-valmiki, the stage at the gate rose on Monday was handed over to people from the Valmiki community, who promised their support for farmers’ causes,” Tikait added.
