Mumbai: Former Minister of State Congress for home and MLA from Kalina in Santacruz Kripashankankar Singh formally joined BJP on Wednesday.
Singh had distanced himself from Congress for some time.
He did not campaign for parties during the 2019 assembly selection even though he had significant followers among North India in Mumbai.
The selection of BMC will be due in February next year.
Yatin Kadam, the son of the MLUB late Congress from Niphad Raosaheb Kadam will join BJP in front of the opposition leader Devendra Fadnivis and BJP President State Chandrakan.
